We are pleased to announce pleased that the shareholders of Energem Corp. (“Energem”) (Nasdaq: ENCP, ENCPW) have overwhelmingly approved the proposed business combination with Graphjet Technology Sdn. Bhd. (“Graphjet”), a Malaysian company known for its technology in recycling palm kernel shells to produce graphene and artificial graphite.

Shareholders approved the business combination proposal with 80.162% of votes in favor. Energem plans to file meeting results on Form 8-K with the SEC. The combination is expected to close around March 6, 2024, pending customary conditions.

Upon the merger’s conclusion, the combined entity will commence trading on the Nasdaq Global Market® under the new ticker symbols “GTI” for ordinary shares and “GTIWW” for warrants. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the evolution of both Energem and Graphjet, positioning them for continued success in the burgeoning market of sustainable materials for electric vehicle batteries, medical devices, and home appliances.
