International SPAC Summit has reached Abu Dhabi!
29 June 2022, Abu Dhabi: The 2022 iteration of the International SPAC Summit came to Abu Dhabi this summer on 29 June 2022. Organized by ARC Group, hosted by Abu Dhabi Global Market, and sponsored by EF Hutton, International SPAC Summit 2022 (ISS 2022) is the only event that brings firsthand knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of SPACs. It brought together the global enterprises to form valuable partnerships, leading the development of the industry with the most professional authority. ISS 2022 offered an overview from the perspective of SPACs, regarding the most efficient and profitable ways of bringing a company public to the MENA region.
The summit witnessed 140+ participants from across 12 countries. With 30 funds, 50+ investors and 20+ at-company founders, the summit launched the MENA region towards the SPACs, and the global opportunities awaiting the local investors and companies.
The summit invited experts to discuss many topics, ranging from the current SPAC market overview, to the future of SPAC & worldwide trends. The guest speakers and panelists who shared their views, include Mr. David Boral (President, EF Hutton), Mr. Mitchell Nussbaum (Vice Chairman, Loeb & Loeb), Mr. Danay Lea (Advisor to the CEO, ADX), Mr. Abraham Cinta (CEO, ARC Group), Mr. Jesus Hoyos (Managing Partner, ARC Group), Mr. F. Jacob Cherian (Co-CEO, Anghami), Mr. Pankaj Gupta (Co-CEO, Gulf Islamic Investments), Ms. Anvita Varshney (Managing Director, AV Capital Partners), Mr. Sumit Mehta (Managing Director, Arrow Capital), Mr. Paul Chong (Managing Partner, Knights Capital Partners) and Mr. Chittransh Verma (Managing Director, ARC Group)
The summit was successful in starting conversations around SPACs in the region and connecting the diverse stakeholders to find new business opportunities. The participants were able to interact and learn from the SPAC leaders across the globe, which gave them access to the collective insight required to be on the better side of the existing SPAC market while the deal numbers keep on increasing.
Mr. Abraham Cinta, CEO, ARC Group discussed why the summit came to Abu Dhabi this year. “UAE has the capacity to play a very pivotal role in the global economics, but for it, they would need to assess and act on opportunities which are more future oriented. SPACs are gaining the momentum, and whosoever rides on the rising tide, will be ahead. The Abu Dhabi government is very supportive in developing the infrastructure that would be suitable to SPACs, which makes Abu Dhabi an obvious choice for this event.”
